What personal information do we collect from the people that visit our website and how is it used?

When ordering or registering on our site you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information or other details to help you with your experience.
Your first and last name are used to personilize your experience within our client area and other support systems.
Your email and phone number will only be used for important communcation which may include but is not limited to invoices, order notifications, personal product related information such as your server activation details, support ticket notifications and maintenance notifications. We will never share or sell this information to other instances unless stated in this privacy policy. Additionally, your email will never be used for marketing emails or mailing lists.
Your first name, last name, email, mailing address and IP are used and stored to prevent fraud on our systems. Our systems analyze the data by using specific algorithms. When conducting any payments on our systems, our fraud tools may pass your data to Stripe or PayPal's servers to verify your payment. We will NEVER store credit card information on our servers. These are stored on Stripe's servers.

Log Files

Anvilnode follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

How do we protect your information?

We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards. We do however use regular Malware Scanning and frequently audit our own systems. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers. All customer data is hosted in OVH's datacenter in Paris, France. As a fail-over solution, we replicate all our data to a Frankfurt datacenter operated by AWS. Due to the nature of our service, we have various locations around the world which also hold data. This data isn't personal and is completely service related. The main accesspoint(also known as control panel) for the service (thus also controlling the data) is hosted in Paris, France.

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. This information is not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

We provide paid products and/or services. To be able to receive money, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors). We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. Children’s Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity. Anvilnode does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 18. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

Online Privacy Policy Only

This privacy policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in Anvilnode. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

Retention periods

Anvilnode stores and processes your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the objectives which are intended for that data. The retention period can therefore differ for each purpose, for example to meet legal obligations (e.g. to meet our accounting and fiscal obligations, Anvilnode is obliged to keep records for up to 7 years) or for the legal necessity to provide certain data as evidence in case of disputes for up to a maximum of 10 years after termination of your contract. These archived data are, of course, only accessible to a limited extent.

Right to rectification and erasure

As a data subject, you are entitled to have incomplete, incorrect, inappropriate or outdated personal data corrected or supplemented. For this purpose, our customer service can be contacted from a registered address or your data can be amended via our client area. You are required to keep your data up to date, we request that you notify us of any changes, such as if you move house. You also have the right, without undue delay, to have your personal data deleted if and insofar as:

  • the personal data are no longer required for the purposes;
  • there is no longer a legal ground for the processing;
  • you object to the processing, and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing by Anvilnode;
  • the personal data have been unlawfully processed; or
  • the personal data must be erased for compliance with a legal obligation that applies to Anvilnode.

Anvilnode will send you a confirmation message after complying with a request for erasure. In the case of partial erasure, Anvilnode will also explain why the request could not be fully met. Depending on the nature of the request, it is possible that some services can no longer be offered by Anvilnode. Anvilnode is also not always able to erase all requested data, for example, to comply with legal obligations (e.g. in order to meet accounting and fiscal obligations, Anvilnode is required to retain invoicing data for a maximum of 7 years).
