How To: Setup Votifier or NuVotifier

This is a guide on how you can install and setup the plugin "Votifer" or "NuVotifier" on your server. These plugins will listen on your server for voting sites sending you votes.

Votifier or NuVotifier?
There is a alternative plugin called "NuVotifier". NuVotifier is based off of Votififer. The difference is that NuVotifier has more frequent updates, it's safer and uses better protocols so we highly suggest using that instead. The plugin can be found here (or you can install it through the plugin installer): https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/nuvotifier.13449/

Dependencies:
- This plugin requires a "listener" such as GAListener (which can be found here: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/give-anything-listener/). Basically, it does exactly what the name says; it "listen(s)" for a vote and executes the command(s) once a vote is received.

Follow these steps to install and setup Votifier or NuVotifier.

1) Firstly, you will need to download Votifier (http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/votifier/) or NuVotifier along with a "listener" such as GAListener, and upload them to your servers plugins directory (/plugins). You can also use our built in plugin installer and install it straight through the panel without having to upload files yourself.

2) Next, you will need to restart your server so the Votifier folder, and the default plugins files (such as the configuration file) can be created.

3) Navigate your way to the folder created by Votifier (/plugins/Votifier), and edit the "config.yml" file. You can do this through our Web File Manager of through FileZilla.

4) Next, set the IP option to the numeric IP that can be seen in your panel. Do not enter the server port there. After that look for the "port" option and change it to any 4 digit number above 1024, such as 9152 (a random number). This should NOT be your server port. There's a small chance you will stumble upon a port that's already used. If that's the case, try a different one. Once you've made the necessary changes, save the file.

5) Navigate to your GAListener folder and open the "config.yml" file.

6) Now, configure the options to what you want. We won't go into detail as to how to configure them as there are too many options to cover: but here is the configuration page (http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/give-anything-listener/pages/configuration/) which contains an example configuration file. Once you've made the necessary changes, save the file.

7) Again, you will need to restart or reload your server.

8) You should now have a fully working Votifier plugin, ready for use. You can test your votifier configuration here: https://minecraftservers.biz/votifier/test/
